As Special Education Coordinator at Leakey ISD, my responsibility is to ensure that our special education students receive the supports they need in order to be successful in their classes and as individuals in the school setting. I work closely with special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, parents and the Cluster 5 Special Education Co-op to compile the most recent student data and present that information to the ARD Committee so that we can determine the best individualized course of action for the student, based on that data.
If, at any time, you have concerns or questions regarding your student as it pertains to their progress or supports please contact me. As a parent or guardian you are a vital piece of the puzzle that is Special Education and are privy to important information and might see behaviors from your student that we as educators may not see. Knowing what you see and hear from your student is key to helping us unlock successful interventions and overcoming obstacles that will lead to greater opportunities for their learning.
